Frequently asked questions.

So what is a Travel Advisor and how am I protected if I book through you?

'As Travel Advisors, we do not sell package holidays. Instead, we work as an intermediary, advising and assisting you to book your travel directly with vetted suppliers. Where appropriate, or required, our partners will have full financial bonding and adhere to the Package Travel Regulations and the Linked Travel Arrangement Regulations. The important thing to note is that EVS Luxury Travel do not hold funds on your behalf; you will pay the supplier direct and so will benefit from their financial protection (which may include ATOL protection and other bonding).

So why should you book through us?

We work as full time professionals in the travel business. We visit as many properties as we can and through our affiliation to Departure Lounge, are members of a knowledgeable network of professionals. If we haven’t visited a property, been on a train, or a cruise ship, one of our colleagues probably has, so you can be sure of up to date first-hand knowledge. We can save you hours of research and scrolling through Trip Advisor reviews. In addition, as a Preferred Partner of many top hotel groups, cruise lines and travel partners, we can also often add value that you simply won’t be able to get elsewhere, but at no extra cost to you. This can come in the form of upgrades, hotel and resort credits, shore excursions and more. We’re also here for you throughout your trip and the service you receive from us is truly bespoke and personalised for you.

But I research all my travel myself and book direct these days. Why should I use you?

If you know where you want to go and when, just get in touch and find out what value we can add. Booking direct is not always the most beneficial way. We can usually match a property’s best available flexible rate, so you won’t pay more for booking through me and we can frequently offer you perks and amenities you wouldn’t receive on direct bookings.

Why are you affiliated to a USA Travel Agency?

In the UK, Virtuoso and the Preferred Partner Programmes aren’t well known. We could have taken a more simple route and joined a more traditional UK agency, but for us the benefits, perks and added value we’re able to offer as part of Departure Lounge have enabled our company to offer something a bit different.

Do you just work with UK Clients?

No, our clients are about 50% UK based, 30% USA based (We plan a lot of travel for US visitors coming to the UK and Europe, who appreciate having an advisor in the same time zone as them when they’re traveling and someone who truly knows London like a local). The remainder of our clients are spread out across the rest of the world.

So how do you earn your money?

For straightforward hotel or cruise bookings, we receive commission from the property or cruise line. This does not increase the price you pay. For more complex planning, we charge a fee for our professional time. This will be outlined to you and agreed prior to any planning work takes place.
